Product Information
These incresingly rare spherical primes are Japanese made from the 1960’s. Designed for motion picture they have some pretty heavy duty credits to their name including Rocky and The Godfather Pt.2 and for good reason.
Single layer amber coatings give beautiful warm tones and big golden flares. They are fairly low contrast and sharp in the centre with pleasing falloff, especially wide open. Bokeh is textured but not distracting and they have an impressive resolution for their age.
Although they were designed for S35 cinematography half of the focal lengths actually cover full frame making this set even more versatile.
Even when you know them well they still give you a double take sometimes at how good they are.
