Tribe 7 was founded as a collaboration between artist and Academy Award nominated Cinematograher Bradford Young, ASC and Neil Fanthom, Motion Picture Camera & Lens technologist.

Their new breed of lenses exhibit unique imaging properties which arise from the introduction of distortion and modularity during development and manufacturing. Each lens has tunable optical qualities allowing properties such as sharpness, roll-off, field curvature and halation to be personalized to suit the character and intent of the owner.

Our set is the 'T-Tuned' version, T standing for Transient and which we feel gives the best balance of performance and character - single layer coatings providing a warmer image, lifted shadows whilst retaining the same sharpness and focus fall off of the original binary tuned versions.

These are unique looking modern full frame lenses with all of the refinements & robust workings you'd expect of a newly designed product whilst retaining the optical character of a vintage lens from the 50s & 60s, albeit without the fragility and range inconsistencies.
