On a trip to the Cooke Factory in Leicestershire back in early 2017 our keen eyes spotted the initial workings of a lens housing on which was written 'S7'... at this point the 'S6' Anamorphics had only just been fully released so we were somewhat intrigued. It was something that our eyes weren't supposed to see but nonetheless with a bit of tooing and froing between ourselves, CVP and Cooke it meant we were right near the top of the list to receive a set on release.

After a little delay as multiple sets shipped internationally to large orders from China & India we've just received all currently available lenses in our set - 25, 32, 40, 50, 75, 100 & 135mm.

Once again, Cooke have done a magnificent job in the construction of these, all of the lenses bar the 16mm have 110mm diameter front ends, all weigh between 3-4kg, roughly the same as a Cooke Anamorphic and it's a consistent fast stop of T2 throughout the range.

Having invested in Sony Venice cameras and with the continued demand we're seeing for full frame aquisition in both commercials, drama and features it was a no brainer for us to go with the S7s especially as they're a rarer proposition currently than the off the shelf Arri Signature and Zeiss Supreme lenses.

Our Cooke S7/i Prime lenses are supplied with /i Technology that collect detailed lens data for production, VFX and post-production teams and are designed for all PL mounted professional motion picture film and electronic cameras. The /i Technology provides cinematographers and camera operators with vital information on lens setting, focusing distance, aperture and depth-of-field, hyperfocal distance, serial number, owner data, lens type and focal length in both metric and footage measurements, as well as inertial tracking data, shading and distortion data. For zoom lenses, the zoom position is displayed.
